Skjal
Skjal is the mobile communications client for the site. When Aella is installed, staff can include it in a conversation. Human-to-human traffic remains between people.
What it is
Aella in the room
Add her to a DM or a group. Stella is the office desktop. Skjal is the phone. Same person.
Gone when you leave
Logout wipes the local history. Leave a room and your messages become placeholders.
On the wire
You run the relay. Human rooms are end-to-end. We do not trace the chat.
- End-to-end — Double Ratchet in one-to-one, sender keys in groups. Ciphertext on the relay.
- Not traced — No analytics SDK. No mining of rooms. We do not keep a readable transcript.
- Wipe on logout — Closing the session deletes local history. That is the default.
- Your relay — No vendor cloud reading the rooms. Placement and backups stay on your metal.
- Aella is stated — If she is in the room, that path is plaintext to her. Human rooms stay end-to-end.
